Submission of an application is your commitment to go. If we purchase a plane ticket for you and you are unable to go, you will still be responsible for the full cost of the ticket and any other non-refundable costs.
Please be aware that most mission projects require a great deal of walking and physical exertion – far more than many Americans are used to on a daily basis. 

To make the application process quicker, please have the following items easily accessible: passport/driver's license, current medical information, contact info for references/emergency contacts.

 

About This Opportunity

GraceWorks Alaska exists to share the gospel and mobilize mission team volunteers to carry out the good news - to bring the love of Christ to people in Alaskan communities.

This team will work with GraceWorks to assist with the Iditarod sled dog race and various construction and/or community outreach projects around Anchorage, Alaska. The team will help with the set-up and tear down of the official re-start for the Iditarod sled dog race as well as serving as security, parking lot attendants, and dog-handlers on race day. This will allow our team opportunities to meet and have gospel conversations with the thousands of spectators that come to experience the race, as well as represent Jesus and His love to the other Iditarod volunteers as we serve selflessly with Christ-like attitudes. After the race, we will assist with construction/maintenance projects around Echo Church and various community outreach projects in the community, such as serving at the homeless shelter or the local boys and girls club.
