It was great to be back in Denver serving with Jesus on Colfax serving with Matt & Kayla Horne. We prepared and served lunch every day to the neighbors on Colfax. Some of the people are homeless and some live in nearby hotels. They are people that are just trying to survive. Many of them come hungry and usually ask for 2nd or 3rd servings of food. We worked on a hotel that is owned by JOC by painting, fixing doors, preparing the floors for a new stain. They were hoping to have it ready for a grand opening on Monday 3/30. These rooms will be for the ones that have gone through a strict program and are committed to want to improve their life and get off the streets. I helped sort items in the Family Room, helped with a ladies day only on Wednesday. We served lunch, had a Bible Study, and offered crafts for the ladies. I taught an ESL class on Tuesday. We had training classes almost every day on subjects that are unique to the people that live on the streets. It helps to know what some of them are going through and how to help and pray for them. We prepared and took food to 3 different hotels on Colfax. It was a blessing to serve with the staff at JOC. They really care for the people they serve. We were blessed to attend their church on Sunday to hear Matt preach and to see how their attendance has grown since the last time we were there in 2023. They really need our daily prayers for their safety and strength for each day.
