About This Opportunity
Wears Valley Ranch provides Christian homes, education, and counseling to children in crisis situations. Their vision is to see each child inspired to follow Christ, healed from the past, and equipped to reach their potential.
How Can I Serve at Wears Valley Ranch?
There are many opportunities to serve the students and staff at Wears Valley Ranch. Several of those are listed below, however, this list is not all-inclusive. There are times when special needs arise and provide additional opportunities to serve.Short-Term Opportunities

Meal Preparation: Volunteers and groups can provide a meal for home to give the houseparents a break. The meal would be about 12 people.

Recreation: Volunteers can do recreational activities for children, such as art, music, and sports. Coordination is with Seth Houser, the rec director.

Special Events: Volunteers can help with special events at the ranch, such as fundraisers, community events and parties.
a. We would also love groups to throw fun events or socials for the ranch. -
General Maintenance: Volunteers can help with general maintenance tasks around the ranch, such as gardening, painting, electrical work, and cleaning.
a. Weedeating: Come out and weed-eat pasture fence line 1x per month. -
Photographer: A photographer who would like to do event photos and/or senior pictures for graduating students. Also, for yearbook photos.

Short-term mission projects: Both Skilled and unskilled. Options include small construction, trail building, staining, painting, and other projects.
a. Mountain Bike Program: Expansion of our existing mountain bike facility and shed
Consistent Longer Term Roles:

Volunteer Family: Serve as a host volunteer family for students over weekends and holiday breaks. (See Attachment)

Campus Grocery: Pick up groceries (Kroger Pick-up) and/or stock the campus grocery building upon return to campus - Weekly (Tuesday afternoons)
- SAS Tutoring: Volunteers can tutor children in a variety of subjects, helping them improve their academic skills and confidence. This role requires a consistent commitment.
